Green-Bio Science Forum

Green-Bio Science Forum

What is Green-Bio Science?:

Dealing with environmental and economic challenges for a sustainable future will require developing and applying new technologies. Green-Bio Science refers to biosciences that offer environmentally friendly solutions as an alternative to traditional agriculture, horticulture, and animal breeding processes. Green-bio science greatly contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and climate change impacts on food security to improve agricultural productivity and resource use.

What is Green-Bio Science Forum (GBSF)?

The Forum is a part of ICAB project (“Capacity Building for the Center for Agriculture and Bioscience of IPB University in Indonesia”). The Forum is organized by IPB University and Seoul National University (SNU) supported by KOICA. The Faculty of Seoul National University and IPB University will lecture during this event. The Forum gathers and exchanges opinions among the participants, including the scientific community, policy-makers, industry, and academia. The Forum addresses Green-Bio Science-relevant issues important for the state of play in Indonesia and Korea, starting with Korean strategy on agriculture, biotechnology, biomedicine, and veterinary medicine.

How many Forums have taken place so far and how many are planned?

As of January 2024, the ICAB project has hosted two Forums and is planning three more Forums in the future. The first GBSF was held with the project’s Launching Ceremony at IPB University, on February 9, 2023. The second GBSF was held at Hoam Faculty House Conference Center in Seoul, Korea on May 23, 2023, in conjunction with the project’s first Short-term training. The next Forum is scheduled to take place in 2025.

What lectures will be given?
